PhotoHunt: In Memory

It seems like every time I do the PhotoHunt I keep on adding more and more images. Here are three from Arlington, Virginia taken a few years ago...
Tombstones at Arlington National Cemetery.

The Eternal Flame memorial where the Kennedy's are buried.

And finally the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier which is perpetually guarded 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. This picture was taken during changing of the guards.

Lovin' Laoag

I have too many pictures from our Ilocos Norte trip so I'm just going to break it in sections so it would be more manageable for me to blog about it. I'm too lazy to do a full documentary but since they say "a picture says a thousand words" I'll let the pictures do most of the talking. Here's an aerial shot of Laoag just before we landed. Pretty huh?
We visited the Marcos Mausoleum which is adjacent to the Marcos Museum in Batac. We weren't allowed to take pictures inside, but anyway... here's the gang [minus me, of course, coz I'm taking the picture.]
It was cool to see the preserved remains of the former president, free of charge. But since this is a tourist spot, the locals use it to their advantage to sell their wares.
We left with a bunch of tinubong and chichacorn. It's pretty cool, you have to whack it open before you can eat it... here's a pic of the tinubong...
And this is me in front of the Marcos Museum, just coz I don't have a picture yet :)
Paoay Church
With the best friends in the whole world!
Are they practicing for pre-nup portraits?
MalacaƱang of the North
It's such a beautiful house.
View of Paoay Lake from the balcony.
Just me.
Wandering around.
Sparse and breezy interiors.
I was disappointed to not see a single pair of Imelda's shoes. But these guys seemed to like the tour :)
We also visited Marcos' birthplace in Sarrat.
There's so much history in this place but poorly archived.
A couple of pictures...
And here's me with the caretaker.
Next up: touristy spots in Vigan and the rest of Ilocos Norte

Shoe Haul

Treated myself to a couple of pairs yesterday. From left: Calvin Klein Katell peep toe pumps, Diesel Martha ballet flats, Diesel Heather skimmer flats.
Can't wait to wear them!

Birthday Reflections

I turned 26 last Wednesday and as usual my friends make it a point to make sure I know I'm getting older... I think they made quite a statement with the candle :)
But my sweet mom thinks I'm still her little girl. She only gave me 6 candles "for the 6 in 26."
Those were two awesome-tasting cakes by the way. All in all, I'm extremely thankful that God has blessed me with another year of life and has provided me with everything I could possibly need and more.

PhotoHunt: Walking

I'm PhotoHunting again! This week's topic is walking and as I have an insane amount of pictures of people walking all around the world... here are two from opposite sides of the globe [taken at different times, of course].
I took this picture of my brother crossing the street at Fifth Ave. I think we were shopping or checking out the Rockefeller Christmas tree, I forget.

Anyway, on the other side of the world all the way in Ilocos Norte...
I took this shot of one of my friends making footprints in the sand at the beach in Fort Ilocandia. A few moments later the waves wiped it all away so when she looked back all she saw was a clean slate. Well, good thing I am always camera-ready so now you know what your footprints look like, Ella!
